Joseph Andras

Joe Andras specializes in intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and related litigation. Joe has over thirty years of experience as an intellectual property attorney.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California while working at Hughes Aircraft. Joe then attended Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, earning his J.D.

Joe is admitted to the State Bar of California and is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Joe is a member of the Orange County Intellectual Property Law Association, having served on its Board of Directors and as its President.

Joe is actively involved with litigation, prosecution, licensing and counseling. Joe has worked in some particularly complicated areas of patent prosecution, including patent interferences, reissue applications, appeals, and reexamination procedures. Joe also has extensive experience in trademark prosecution and litigation. Joe is frequently contacted to serve as local counsel for outside law firms requiring an intellectual property attorney who is familiar with the local nuances of litigation in California. Joe’s clientele is diverse, including publicly traded companies, mid-size companies, and start-ups. Joe also has experience working closely with international clients on intellectual property issues in the United States. Joe’s work has taken him overseas on several occasions.

Outside of the office, Joe spends time with his wife, Esther, and his sons, Christopher, Kevin, and Nicholas.  Joe is also a private pilot and a fan of USC football.
